Long-Term Disability

The RCAB Benefit Trusts offer Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage to participating Catholic organizations and their employees. This benefit is offered at no cost to employees. LTD insurance provides monthly benefits to employees if they become totally disabled and unable to work.

There is an elimination period of 180 days under the LTD plan.  The elimination period means a period of continuous disability which must be satisfied before an employee is eligible to receive benefits from Symetra.  Benefits begin the day after the elimination period is completed.  If an employee meets the definition of disability, the employee may receive a benefit up until their normal retirement age, as defined by the Social Security Administration.  See the LTD Insurance Summary for more information.
